Obama-CheskyVoyager Scholarship for Public Serve and ONLY FOR SOPHOMORES!

The Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service is now open for applications! Applications are due April 1, 2025 in the online portal (apply here).

The Voyager Scholarship is open to sophomores with a GPA of 3.0 or above who are US citizens, permanent residents, US nationals, or DACA recipients, who have demonstrated financial need, clear public service experience, and intend to pursue a career in public service, broadly defined. From the website: “Public service can include careers in government, nonprofit, or the private sector, ranging from school teachers, community organizers, social workers, entrepreneurs with ideas for socially impactful businesses, journalism, arts, and design — a range of fields through which people are committed to creating a more connected, just, and equitable world.”

The Voyager Scholarship is a 2-year leadership development program run by the Obama Foundation. It provides $50,000 in financial aid, funds a junior summer travel itinerary of your own design (the “Summer Voyage”), and comes with a $2000/year travel stipend for 10 years after graduation. Learn more on the Voyager Scholarship profile on the Office of Fellowships website or  watch the recording of our conservation with Voyager Scholar Michael Gadinis in spring 2023 (Wesleyan SSO login required).

While students will apply directly in the online portal, those interested in applying should reach out to the Office of Fellowships at fellowships@wesleyan.edu to be connected with resources and receive an invitation to an upcoming Voyager writing workshop.
